I'm taking my time
Knowing life won’t slow down
I follow that line
From Adam on down
I'm going to live for today
Don't care how time has fled
My path shows the way
There’s a clear way ahead.

Since the mid-1960s Mel Green has been known as an interpreter of the modern and traditional "folk music songbook" and over the last three decades, he has become a songwriter as well. Mel's engaging sets include songs with singable choruses and interesting themes that strike a chord wiith most audiences.

He plays solo, usually backed up by a duo of his musician friends, bass player Eric Luskin and pianist Paul Lee.
He also co-founded and performs with his folk-rock band of the last eighteen years, The Maple Street Project, who are a songwriting collaborative which performs regularly around the greater Boston area...

Today, Mel plays guitar, harmonica, some mandolin, electric bass and mountain dulcimer, and has been known to harmonize with anyone at the drop of a hat.

He was also the co-founder of the famous South African acoustic duo Mel & Mel, who made a reputation for themselves as premier harmony singers andas a comedy team. They broke into the mainstream 60s South African folk revival after they added the great guitarist Julian Laxton, to form Mel, Mel & Julian, who eventually recorded three albums for CBS [Columbia, South Africa] and are counted amongst the most influential South African folk groups of that time.
